DANCE IN THE SAMBA PARADE IN RIO DE JANEIRO FOR CARNAVAL 2007
The Ballroom, Latin & Swing Dance Center is sponsoring a cruise to South America including three days in Rio De Janeiro for Carnaval 2007. The cruise includes tickets for two nights of Carnaval and the Samba Parade at the Sambodromo, a one mile concrete parade ground built in the center of Rio especially for this once a year event. 60,000 people show up to watch the samba parade live while millions more tune in on TV to view this fabulous event where the top 14 Brazilian samba schools compete for the right to march in the winners parade.
Some of our dancers have expressed an interest in participating in the Samba Parade. Visiting dancers can purchase a costume and the right to march, dance, and sing with one of the top 14 schools. The cost is approximately $300 to participate in a ground wing or $600 to participate on a float. No rehearsals or early arrival is required. Instructions are provided to the participants and the costumes are theirs to keep. Each school will parade for approximately 1.5 hours on Sunday or Monday (7 schools each night).

We have inside, window, balcony and concierge class cabins reserved until mid-June. After that we may have to release some or all of our cabins.
